Contribution Guidelines

What We're Looking For

Minnesota Then welcomes contributions that focus on local Minnesota history, with an emphasis on:

  • Untold or lesser-known stories about Minnesota communities
  • Historical events, places, or people with local significance
  • Personal connections to Minnesota's past
  • Cultural heritage and traditions of Minnesota's diverse communities
  • Historical context for current Minnesota landmarks or neighborhoods

Article Requirements

  • Length: 700 - 800 words
  • Well-researched with proper citations and sources
  • Original content not published elsewhere
  • Engaging, accessible writing style for general audiences
  • Include at least 2-3 relevant historical images (with proper permissions)
